Excavations have revealed flints, and geological resources like veins of crystallised quartz and graphite. Mine workings are thought to be at the origin of the name [coron in modern French means a mining village]. A legend also has it that it comes from camp de César phoneticized as counchezard in the local dialect. Concèze is one of Limousins Villages in Bloom, awarded 3 flowers. |

Concèze is of Gallo-Roman historical origins, confirmed by the discovery of a Gallo-Roman burial ground during excavations in 1977. Finds from these (funeral urns, vases, etc.) are displayed in the Regional Resource Centre for Archæology of the Landscape in Uzerche. |
